Overview

The University of Miami's AI for Everyone curriculum includes required learning based on roles and skills needed, with additional optional learning opportunities. Our artificial intelligence (AI)-focused curriculum includes:

First order of business? Complete the AI Fundamentals course!

AI Fundamentals is designed to build a shared foundation in AI literacy across the University of Miami, empowering all UM employees with the practical skills and confidence to leverage AI tools responsibly and effectively in your work and to support our institutional goals.

This course provides an accessible introduction to core artificial intelligence concepts—like machine learning, generative AI, large language models (e.g., ChatGPT), and responsible AI practices—so anyone at the University of Miami can understand what AI is, how it works, and how it's being used today.

  • How do I see what I need to do for the University of Miami?

    The University of Miami AI Fundamentals track contains all of the work you are required to complete by UM. To access this: Log in to DataCamp > Navigate to the Learn tab > select the track assigned to you in My Assignments.

  • What's the difference between Assignments and Enrollment? Do I need both?

    Assignments are prescribed to you by the University of Miami. You may have multiple assignments. You cannot edit or change your assignments. You determine which learning tracks you are enrolled in. You do not have to enroll in a track, and can only be enrolled in one track at a time.

    It is highly recommended that you enroll in the assigned University of Miami AI Fundamentals learning track to optimize your learning experience. This lets you see your overall progress within track and helps align the information on the Learn tab with the work you need to complete for UM.

  • I think I already know all about some of these topics very well; can I skip them?

    Some, but not all, courses in the assigned learning track will give you the option to select "Take Test" and skip if you demonstrate proficiency in DataCamp. You must either test out of or complete the learning chapters in all courses.
